Keeping documents in PDF format can be beneficial in certain situations, but not if you wish to edit or publish their contents. To get past this difficulty, you can use UniPDF to convert your PDFs into more accessible formats, like word or HTML. The application is lightweight, it works fast and it is very easy to use. Furthermore, it provides support for batch operations, which means that you can convert more than one PDF in a single run.

UniPDF is absolutely free, but you can make a donation if you wish to support it. It comes in a small package and it can be installed almost instantly. The application works on Windows 2000, XP, Vista, Win 7 and Win 8 and it doesn't have any special requirements.

The application comes with a compact user interface, which presents only a small number of options. All you have to do is add one or more PDFs to a list, select an output format and click a button to start converting. You can save your documents as Word documents, images, plain text files or HTML files.

A few general settings can be made on the same interface, but on a different tab. You can choose a default output folder, as well as default formats for word and image conversions. If you wish to convert PDFs to image files, you can set the application to store them in JPG, BMP, PNG, GIF or other formats, with different resolutions and color bit values. Also, you can set the Word output format to DOC or RTF. If you don't have MS Word installed on your computer, you can still convert PDFs to Rich Text Format.

Pros

You can convert PDFs to other formats with just a few clicks. The application is capable of processing several files in a single run and it can store them in various formats. Its user interface has a clean and simple design and its options are very easy to understand.

Cons

There are no obvious drawbacks to speak of. UniPDF gives you full control over your PDF documents. It does not take more than a few simple clicks to convert any number of documents to other formats.
